Description : Tree to 20 m tall; resin clear white. Indumentum shortly fine reddish brown tufted tomentose on young twigs, stipules, petioles and inflorescences. Stipules oblong to ovate-oblong, 3–8 by 1.5–2.5 mm. Leaves coriaceous, elliptic, ovate, oblong to lanceolate, 3–13 by 1–5.5 cm, glabrous on both surfaces; base obtuse, rounded or slightly cordate; apex abruptly short acuminate to acuminate, tapering to 1.3 cm long, tip obtuse; margin slightly revolute; midrib slightly raised above, sparsely tomentose on both sides; secondary nerves 11–14 on each side with scattered intermediate nerves; tertiary nerves scalariform-reticulate; petioles 0.5–1.5 cm long; young leaves light green, dried leaves brownish. Inflorescences to 4 cm long, shortly branched; flower buds ca 5 by 2 mm. Petals white, pubescent. Stamens typical; connective-appendages deltoid, ca half as long as anthers; style shorter than the ovary. Fruiting calyx lobes divided to base; 2 lobes wing-like, tapering to base, 3–4.6 by 0.6–1 cm, slightly dilated at base; 3 short lobes ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, 1–1.5 by 0.4–0.5 cm; fruit pedicels ca 1 mm long. Nut broadly ovoid, 0.7–1 by 0.7–0.8 cm, reddish brown tomentose; style remnant apiculate.

Distribution : Peninsular Malaysia.
Ecology : Evergreen forests, hillsides to ridges, 300–400 m alt. Flowering: unknown; fruiting: April–September.
Vernacular : Phan cham dong (พันจำดง).
