Description : Perennial herb; stems from fibrous roots, prostrate, elongate, rooting at nodes, appressed pilose, branched up to inflorescences. Leaves opposite, chartaceous, lanceolate, oblong, lanceolate-obovate, trilobate, 6–7 by 2–5 cm, apex acute, mucronate-tipped, base abruptly narrowed to petioles, margins mucronate toothed, both surfaces appressed pilose; petioles to 5 mm long. Inflorescences single capitula, axillary or terminal; peduncles slender, 3–14 cm long, pubescent. Capitula 2–2.3 cm diam. at flowering; involucres broadly campanulate, 7–10 by 9–11 mm; phyllaries 7–9, biseriate, oblong, foliaceous; receptacle slightly convex, paleaceous, paleae lanceolate, scarious. Ray florets 12–14 per capitulum; rays yellow, oblong, 12–13 by 4–5 mm, apex 3-denticulate. Disc florets ca 38 per capitulum; corollas yellow, ca 4.3 mm long, apex 5-lobed, lobes 0.3 mm long. Achenes obovoid, 2.7–3 by 1.5–1.7 mm, 3–4-angled, sparsely glandular-dotted; pappus crown-like.


Thailand : CENTRAL: Saraburi (Phu Khae Botanic Garden), Krung Thep Maha Nakhon (Bangkok); PENINSULAR: Phangnga (Luk Suea Cave).


Distribution : Native of tropical America (type).


Ecology : Cultivated as a border plant, sometimes escaped elsewhere. Flowering all year round.


Vernacular : Kradum thong lueai (กระดุมทองเลื้อย)(Bangkok).


CommonName : Singapore daisy.
