Description : Annual herb, to 1 m tall; stems terete, reddish, sparsely pubescent. Leaves oblong-lanceolate, 3–7 by 0.4–2 cm, apex attenuate and subacuminate, base cordate, auriculate, aucricles rounded, margins serrate, lower surfaces glandular punctate. Capitula 2.2 cm diam. at flowering; involucres hemispherical, ca 5 by 8 mm; phyllaries linear-lanceolate, 1.5–4 by 0.3–0.4 mm; receptacle fimbrillate. Ray florets 25–30 per capitulum; limbs ca 5 by 1 mm. Disc floret corollas narrowly tubular, 2–3 mm long. Achenes oblong, ca 0.8 mm long, terete, appressed white setuliferous; pappus ca 2 mm long, white.


Thailand : NORTHERN: Mae Hong Son (Pang Mapha, Mae Sariang), Chiang Mai (Ban Mae Kon, Ping Khong, Pha Mon to Sop Ap, Mae Pau, Doi Suthep, Chom Thong, Mae Hoi, Mae Klang), Chiang Rai (Doi Tam Yup), Lamphun (Li), Lampang (Huai Tak); SOUTH-WESTERN: Kanchanaburi (Sadong-Salak Phra, Khao Ko Ai Wao).


Distribution : Tropical Africa, India (type), Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, China (Yunnan, Guangxi).


Ecology : Dry mountain slopes in open pine-oak forests, 1,000–2,000 m alt. Flowering: December.
