Description : Herb, 0.2–0.5 m tall, subscapose; stems decumbent, with upright shoots. Leaves petiolate; blade ovate, elliptic or spathulate, 2–5 by 10–23 mm, apex obtuse, base cuneate, margins mucronate, crenate- or angular-toothed, both surfaces pubescent, strongly marked with black lines of resin canals; petioles 0.5–1.3 cm long, pubescent, clasping stems. Inflorescences a loose cymose panicle of 1–5 capitula per branch; peduncles 0.5–6 cm long, pubescent. Capitula: involucres broadly campanulate, 10–12 by 8–10 mm; calyculate, calycular bracts linear, 2–5 mm long; phyllaries ca 13, uniseriate, lanceolate, ca 2 mm wide, apex acuminate, abaxial surfaces pubescent, with 1–3 resin canals except hyaline margins; receptacle fimbrillate. Florets ca 80 per capitulum; corollas yellow, ca 10 mm long, apex 5-lobed, lobes lanceolate, ca 1 mm long, basal tube ca 6 mm; style arms flattened, with introrsely marginal stigmatic lines and an elongate slender, hispidulous appendage. Achenes (immature) 10-ribbed, grooves setuliferous; pappus of capillary bristles ca 9 mm long, caducous, snow-white.
