Description : Flowering shoots (23–)34–58 cm tall. Pseudobulbs globular or conical, 0.7–0.8 by 1.5–1.8 cm. Foliage leaves 2–3, narrowly lanceolate to linear, grass-like, acute, glabrous, 16–40 by 0.6–1.1(–1.4) cm; petioles (3–)7–9 cm long. Inflorescences lax, pubescent, purple; peduncles 16–51 cm long; sterile bracts 4–7, lanceolate-oblong, acute, 0.5–2.5 cm long; rachis 7–15 cm long, to 12-flowered; floral bracts ovate-lanceolate, subacute or acute, 3–7(–8) by 1.5–2.5 mm. Flowers cream-coloured or white, labellum base yellow. Sepals elliptic-lanceolate, acute or subacute, pubescent, (15–)17–22 by 6.5–10 mm. Petals elliptic, obtuse, basally pubescent, (14.5–)17–22 by 8–12 mm. Labellum 3-lobed, mostly glabrous, 15–19 by 13–17(–18.6) mm; mid-lobe reniform, basal claw indistinct or absent, apex obtuse to emarginate, wider than half the total labellum width, 8–11.6 by (7–)8–11.6 mm; side lobes square, obtuse, erect, 4–8 by 4.8–8 mm; disk ornamented by lamella-like twin-calli, semi-circular and not tapering towards the labellum base, basally hardly united, 2.4–3 mm wide. Column curved, slender at the base and expanded above, glabrous, 7–11 mm long. Ovary (including pedicel) pubescent, 15–27 mm long. Capsule ellipsoid, pubescent, ca 15 by 7 mm.
Thailand : NORTHERN: Chiang Rai, Lampang, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok; NORTH EASTERN: Phetchabun, Loei, Nong Khai, Sakon Nakhon, Khon Kaen; EASTERN: Chaiyaphum, Surin, Ubon Ratchathani.
Distribution : Cambodia (type), Laos, Vietnam.
Ecology : Terrestrial in deciduous forests or in pine savanna, 190–350(–900) m alt. Flowering: September–November.
Vernacular : Ban duek (บานดึก), Sai pla kho (ไส้ปลาข้อ)(Northern).
