Description : Flowering shoots 10–30 cm tall, erect, dark brown, 2–4 mm in diameter at base, unbranched, nodes with 2–4 sheaths; sheaths brown, glabrous, tubular, 1–2 mm long, chartaceous, base amplexicaul; rhizome fusiform. Inflorescence glabrous; rachis 0.5–1.5 cm long, 3- to 8-flowered; bracts triangular, 0.5–1.5 mm long, glabrous, persistent. Flowers short-to long-pedicelled, 0.2–1.2 cm long, brown; sepals and petals usually brown on both sides, rarely light brown outside and white inside. Sepals glabrous, minutely tuberculate outside; dorsal sepal ovate, 6–8.5 by 3–4 mm, 3-veined, apex acute or obtuse; lateral sepals broadly ovate, 6–7.5 by 3.5–5 mm, 3-veined, apex acute to rounded. Petals glabrous, obliquely orbicular-ovate, much wider than dorsal sepal, 3-veined. Labellum 3-lobed, 6–6.5 by 6.5–7 mm, with 3 main veins; side lobes obliquely quadrangular, 2.5–3 mm broad, white, apex irregularly denticulate, much longer than mid-lobe; mid-lobe suboblong, emarginate, ornamented by a conspicuous white to light purple 2-lobed callus below apex. Column white, glabrous, 3–4 mm long, erect; with long linear, acute stelids which point downwards on either side of stigma. Capsule brown, oblong, 2.5–3 cm long, 2–3.5 mm in diameter.

Ecology : Tropical evergreen forests; 150–500 m alt. Flowering: January–July.
