Notes: This species differs from Cymbidium insigne Rolfe from Vietnam and Hainan in having a slighter habit with much smaller pseudobulbs, more slender sepals and petals and a smaller labellum, with a distinctively triangular, shortly clawed mid-lobe. The markings on the labellum comprise bold red-purple spots and stripes rather than dots and streaks, although a form lacking red markings occurs in the wild.
