Description : [Sect. Flaccidae Lindl.]. Pseudobulbs ca 1–3 cm apart, ovoid-pear shape, 3–7 by 2–3 cm. Leaves 2, herbaceous; petiole 2–5 cm; lamina narrowly linear, 19–35 by 1–2 cm, acute; nerves 5–9, midrib prominent. Inflorescence proteranthous; peduncle 3.5–7.5 cm, largely covered by scale leaves; rachis curved, 3–5 cm, internodes 1–2 cm. Floral bracts caducous. Flowers 2–4, open simultaneously, fragrant, 5–6 cm in diameter, glabrous; sepals, petals and column white to pale pink; labellum white, base of mid-lobe and front of side lobes yellow, side lobes veined brown, keels on mid-lobe brown. Dorsal sepal patent, elliptic-lanceolate, 27–30 by 8–10 mm. Lateral sepals oblong, acute, 27–30 by 6–10 mm. Petals linear-lanceolate, acute, ca 25–30 by 4–5 mm. Labellum 3-lobed, 16–22 by 14–17 mm; side lobes semi-elliptic with triangular top, sinus ca 2 mm; mid-lobe ovate, 7–11 by 5–8 mm, margins entire, claw 2–3 mm, top acute to acuminate; ornaments of 3 keels, median equally long or shorter, laterals continuing on base of the mid-lobe, undulate. Column ca 15 mm; top winged, apex notched.
Thailand : NORTHERN: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Nan, Lampang, Phitsanulok (Phu Miang); NORTH-EASTERN: Loei (Phu Luang); EASTERN: Nakhon Ratchasima; SOUTH-WESTERN: Kanchanaburi (Wangka); CENTRAL: Nakhon Nayok (Khao Yai); SOUTH-EASTERN: Chanthaburi, Trat (Khao Kuap).
Distribution : India (type), Bangladesh, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, China, Peninsular Malaysia.
Ecology : Evergreen lowland to lower montane forests, also on limestone; 500–1,700 m alt. Flowering: December–April.
Vernacular : Ueang thian bai khaep (เอื้องเทียนใบแคบ), ueang sam dok (เอื้องสามดอก)(Nakhon Ratchasima); ueang thian sam dok (เอื้องเทียนสามดอก).
