Description : Flowering shoots (32–)45–98 cm tall. Foliage leaves (6–)9–14, scattered along the stem, erect (above) to spreading (below), lanceolate-oblong to (linear-)lanceolate, acute, mucronate, (3–)4.5–17 by 0.8–3 cm. Inflorescence lax, 2- to 4-flowered (rarely 5-flowered); rachis 2–4(–8.5) cm long; bracts (narrowly) lanceolate, (27–)30–79 by 7–14 mm. Flowers white. Sepals rounded to subacute, 5- to 9-veined from the base; dorsal sepal broadly (obovate-helliptic, 16.7–19.5 by 15–17.1 mm; lateral sepals obliquely to falcately (elliptic-)ovate, less than twice as long as the petals, 18.6–22.7 by 12.1–14 mm. Petals recurved, falcately linear, much narrower than the lateral sepals, (sub)acute, 2- to 3-veined from the base, 16.6–21 by 2.2–3.1 mm. Labellum deeply three-lobed, with a tiny conical callus at base; midlobe linear, entire, 15.6–21.5 by (2–)3.1–3.6 mm; side lobes obliquely flabellate, laciniate, 17.4-21 by 12–15.1 mm; spur cylindric, 87–120 mm long. Column 7.2–8.3 mm long. Ovary (including pedicel) 27–40.5 mm long, provided with (sub)entire longitudinal keels.
Thailand : NORTHERN: Chiang Mai, Uttaradit (Laplae); NORTH-EASTERN: Nong Khai; SOUTH-EASTERN: Sa Kaeo.
Distribution : India (Manipur), Myanmar, SW China (Yunnan – type), Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam.
Ecology : Open marshy ground in pine/dipterocarp and pine/oak forests on granite or sandstone bedrock; 670–1,100 m alt. Flowering: recorded in June and October–November.
Vernacular : Khu lu (คูลู)(Southeastern).
