Description : Flowering shoots 10–20 cm tall, erect, pinkish-orange, 5–7 mm in diameter at base, branched or not; fleshy roots yellow; nodes with sheaths; sheaths glabrous to pubescent, ovate, 5–10 mm long, obtuse to acute, coriaceous. Inflorescence a terminal raceme, densely short-hairy, few-to many-flowered; rachis densely short-hairy; bracts ovate, 2–5 by 3–5 mm, densely short hairy. Flowers sessile to short-pedicelled, yellow, not widely opening, non-resupinate. Sepals oblong, incurved, densely and shortly papillose outside, 7- to 9-veined, apex acute; dorsal sepal 12-15 by 5–7 mm; lateral sepals 12–14 by 6–8 mm, larger than dorsal sepal, apex slightly hooded. Petals glabrous, oblong-ovate, 12–14 by 7–8 mm, 7- to 9-veined, apex obtuse, not hooded. Labellum entire, ovate-oblong, orange, fleshy, strongly concave, 9–10 mm long, 7–8 mm wide, the inner surface nearly completely covered by a low horseshoe-shaped callus, its concavity towards base of the labellum firmly fused with base of the column, epichile hairy. Column stout, about 6 mm long, at base with a small conical callus on front, at upper half with large lateral spreading wings which split up into 2–3 layers with irregular dentate edges; anther ca 1 mm long, pubescent. Ovary (including pedicel) obscure. Berry oblong, bright glossy pinkish-orange, 6–8 by 1–1.5 cm, fleshy, with scattered short hairs. Seeds wingless.


Thailand : SOUTH-WESTERN: Kanchanaburi, Phetchaburi; PENINSULAR: Nakhon Si Thammarat (Khao Luang – type: Kerr 585, holotype -K).


Distribution : Endemic.


Ecology : In tropical evergreen forests, hill evergreen forests, often on rotten logs in dark gullies by streams; 800–1,200 m alt. Flowering: April–May.
