Description : Annual herb, glabrous, erect, little or much branched, to 15 cm tall; stem (sub) terete, not winged. Leaves alternate, lower and upper ones similar; petiole absent; all blades narrowly elliptic (or linear), up to 0.8 cm long, apex acute. Flowers solitary; pedicel 5–15(–25) mm long; bracteoles present; ovary glabrous; corolla bilabiate, dark lilac-blue, 5–6 mm long; anthers all bearded at apex. Fruit a capsule, glabrous. Seeds trigonous.
Thailand : NORTH-EASTERN: Loei (Phu Kradueng NP), Nong Khai, Nakhon Phanom; EASTERN: Nakhon Ratchasima (Dan Chumphon), Ubon Ratchathani; SOUTH-EASTERN: Prachin Buri; PENINSULAR: Chumphon (Ban Huai Kayo), Trang
Distribution : Myanmar (type), Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam (Annam, Tonkin), northern Peninsular Malaysia.
Ecology : Wet and dry fallow rice fields, open grassy fields, lower montane pine-oak forests; sea level to 250–1,300 m alt. Flowering and fruiting: November and December.
Notes: Various authors, e.g. Clarke (l.c.), Lammers (l.c.), have united Lobelia dopatrioides with L. griffthii. Apart from different leaf size and shape, the latter has (mostly) a different growth habit, i.e. usually ascending, and larger flowers, corolla 6–10 mm long.
