Description : Tree, 15–30 m high; branches glabrous; bark grey, fissured. Leaves linear or linear lanceolate or oblong 15–30 by 2.5–5 cm, apex acuminate or rounded, base cuneate; chartaceous, lateral nerves 23–44 per side, slender, venation reticulate, prominent on both surfaces; petioles 3–6 cm. Panicles terminal, glabrous, stout, spreading, longer than leaves, 15–20 cm long, on a long peduncle. Flowers 5-merous; calyx lobes ovate-lanceolate, 2.5–3 mm; petals white, lanceolate, 8–9 by 2.7 mm, 3 prominent ridges, ca ¼ the length of petals; disc obscure, stamens 5, 1 fertile, 2.5 mm, filaments not connate at base, anthers ovoid-oblong, 1 mm long; sterile pistil ca 5 mm. Drupes obliquely broadly ellipsoid-globose, 8–12 cm long; flesh yellow, fibrous. Seeds not labyrinthine.

Ecology : In lowland evergreen forests.
