Description : Tree, 25–30 m high; bark greyish-brown, smooth or cracked. Leaves elliptic-oblong or narrowly elliptic, 5.5–21 cm by 2.5–6 cm, apex acuminate, base cuneate; subcoriaceous, lateral nerves 16–32 per side, rather fine, slightly thicker than the veins, obscure on lower surface; venation reticulate, distinct on both surfaces; petioles 0.5–4 cm. Panicles terminal and in upper leaf-axils, densely pubescent. Flowers creamy-white; calyx 4(–6) lobed, sparsely puberulous outside; petals 4 (rarely 5), lanceolate, with 3(–5) ridges up to middle of petals; stamens 5, 1 fertile, filaments free; disc short-cupular, 4-lobed, papillose; ovary subglobose. Drupes obliquely subrotund, compressed, 8–9 cm diam.; flesh thin, fibrous. Seed labyrinthine.

Distribution : Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Java.
Ecology : In lowland evergreen forests, peat swamp forests, and fresh water swamp forests. Flowering: January–February.
Vernacular : Mamuang pan (มะม่วงปาน)(Narathiwat); ka-due-pae (กะดือแป)(Malay Narathiwat).
