Description : Tree, up to 35 m high; branches glabrous, shiny brown. Leaves obovate or elliptic-oblong, 8–15.5 by 2.5–5.5 cm, apex obtuse or rounded, base cuneate; midrib prominent, lateral nerves 12–17 per side, venation densely reticulate, prominent on both surfaces; petioles 2–6.5 cm long, slender, swollen at base. Panicles densely hirsute, ca 20 cm long, axis thick. Flowers with short pedicels, articulate; calyx lobes orbicular, 2–2.5 mm long, pubescent outside; petals 5, oblong, with 3–4 ridges; disc thick, glandular; stamens 5, all fertile, filaments 2 mm long; ovary globose, 1-locular, style short. Drupe suboblong, 3 by 1.5 cm, kernel thin, tegument membraneous.


Thailand : SOUTH-WESTERN: Kanchanaburi; SOUTH-EASTERN: Chon Buri (Si Racha).


Distribution : Lao, Vietnam (type).


Ecology : In evergreen forests, ca 650 m alt.


Vernacular : Mamuang kilen (มะม่วงกิเลน), mamuang khai laen (มะม่วงไข่แลน), mamuang himmaphan khao (มะม่วงหิมพานต์ขาว)(Peninsular).
