Accepted Name : This is currently accepted.
Description : Large tree to 50 m. Outer bark blue-grey. Twigs angled. Leaves (young) alternate, petiolate, ovate to ovate lanceolate; (mature) alternate, lanceolate, usually 15–20 by 2–3 cm, petioles 2–3 cm. Flowers in 7–10-flowered axillary clusters. Pedicels absent. Operculum conical. Stamens with filaments ca 5 mm; anthers 0.5–0.8 mm with a small apical gland. Fruits usually more or less smooth, 9 by 6 mm, conical and distinctly contracted at the apex, valves 3–4, disc narrow forming a ring.
Thailand : Planted.
Distribution : Eastern coasts of Australia (type) though absent from the extreme north and south. Widely cultivated elsewhere,
Ecology : Cultivated.
Notes: Often confused with Eucalyptus grandis (see above).
