Description : Branchlets densely puberulent becoming gradually glabrous. Leaves: petiole 5–11 mm long; blade coriaceous, ovate, oblong or elliptic, 3.1–11.5 x 0.9–4.2 cm, apex shortly acuminate, base rounded to cuneate; 13–22 pairs of secondary veins, slightly raised above or not; puberulent on petiole and on midrib beneath, becoming glabrous with age. Inflorescence axillary and terminal forming a panicle; to 13 cm long; puberulent. Sepals strongly imbricate; ovate, 1.5–3.5 x 1.1–1.7 mm, apex acute to rounded; puberulent, ciliate. Corolla white, mouth orange; long and narrow in bud with head not wider than tube; tube 8–15 mm long, pubescent outside and inside; lobes 5.8–11 mm long, narrowly oblong, much longer than wide, + symmetrical, pubescent outside and inside; corona 0.3–0.9 mm long, sparsely puberulent. Stamens inserted at 2.5–3.5 mm from base; anthers 1–1.7 x 0.4–0.5 mm. Ovary 0.9–1.5 mm long; style 0.7–1.7 mm long; pistil head 1.3–1.8 mm long. Fruit globose; 4–6.2 cm diameter. Seeds 10.2–11.5 x 6.5–7.6 x 2.8–3.2 mm.


Thailand : NORTHERN: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai; NORTH-EASTERN: Phetchabun; EASTERN: Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima.


Distribution : Cambodia (type), Laos.


Ecology : In, or on the edge of, evergreen forests to 1,200 m alt.


Vernacular : Khruea-khang-puk (เครือขางปุก)(Shan-Mae Hong Son).
