Description : Small shrub ca 0.3 m high; branchlets densely covered with rusty scales when young, later glabrescent, greyish, striate when dry. Leaves chartaceous; petiole 5–10 mm, initially rusty scaly; lamina narrowly elliptic, 5–10 by 1.5–3 cm, apex shortly acuminate or somewhat acute, base cuneate, crenate-dentate, with obtuse teeth, glabrous or with a few scattered rusty scales above, rather densely covered with rusty peltate scales beneath, especially on midrib; glandular dots many, scattered; lateral nerves 10–12 pairs, slightly raised beneath, meeting in a looped intramarginal vein; veins and veinlets fine, visible on both surfaces. Inflorescence axillary, usually a 2-flowered simple umbel, rarely with 1–2 branches and in a few-flowered panicle. Peduncle equaling the pedicel (5–8 mm), all densely rusty scaly. Calyx ca 1.25 mm, split almost to base; lobes ovate, scaly outside, dotted with thick glands. Corolla-tube very short; lobes ovate, 2.5 by 2 mm, acute, dotted with red glands. Stamens ca 2 mm; anthers acute. Ovary ovoid; style ca 3.5 mm.

Distribution : Endemic.


Ecology : In lowland evergreen forests.


Vernacular : Tapet hin (ตาเป็ดหิน)(Peninsula).
