Accepted Name : This is currently accepted.

Description : As I explained in Kew Bull. 11: 41. 1956, the application of the name Stephaniac rotunda Lour. is best restricted to the two Loureiro type specimens at the British Museum (Nat. Hist.) from ‘Cochinchina' since they are too poor to decide with certainty the species they represent. Loureiro’s name has been applied to other species, e.g. Stephania glabra and S. venosa (cf. Craib in Fl. Siam. En. 1:69, 70. 1925) and S. pierrei (see above, p. 313).
