Xyris complanata auct. non R.Br.: Hansen, Dansk Bot. Ark. 27: 37. 1969 quoad specimina ex Phu Kradueng.


Description : Leaves with a conspicuous ligule, margins widened, flattened and quite sharply edged but not rough; apex bluntly oblique, (10–)15–30(–50) cm by (1.6–)2–4(–4.4) mm; blade flat. Scape compressed to subterete, 1–2-ridged, but ribs not rough, (35–)40–80(–87) cm by 1.5–3 mm. Inflorescence ellipsoid to cylindrical, 1.2–2.2 by 0.8–1 cm. Median bracts with margin entire or with a few teeth near apex, dark brown; triangular greyish field below apex 2–2.4 by 1.3–2.2 mm, with numerous lighter spots. Lateral sepals narrowly lanceolate in side view, with crest entire to shortly dentate.


Thailand : NORTH-EASTERN: Loei (Phu Kradueng – type: Floto 7484, holotype -C, isotypes -BKF E K L P).


Distribution : Endemic to Thailand.


Ecology : In open, grassy pine forests at 1,300 m alt. Collected four times in August–November.
