Description : Woody climber. Leaves elliptic, chartaceous, 13–14 by 5.5–7 cm; apex obtuse or acute; base obtuse; margin entire; secondary veins 8–10 pairs; petiole 1.5–2 cm long. ♂ flowers: pedicel 1.5–2 cm long; perianth lobes greenish yellow, 14–16, 4–5-seriate, the middle ones the largest (oblong or obovate-oblong, 2.5 by 0.8 cm), yellowish green tipped red. Androecium elongate, 1.5–1.8 cm long. the column produced above into 10–15 subulate appendages, 6–8 mm long; stamens 60–70, the filaments 1.5–2 mm long. ♀ flowers and fruit not known.


Thailand : NORTHERN: Chiang Mai (Doi Inthanon).


Distribution : Endemic.


Ecology : Altitude 160 m.


Vernacular : Sa-kruai-sa (ซากรวยซา)(Karen)(e-version).


Notes: This species was based on a single collection (Garrett 940) which bears well-preserved male flowers. It differs from Kadsura coccinea (Lem.) A.C.Sm., a species occurring in China and N Indochina, in the larger number of stamens and in the leaf venation.
