Notes: Saurauia thorelii Fin. & Gagnep. from Indochina is probably no more than a glabrescent form of S. roxburghii Wall. The specimen identified by Carib as S. thorelii is Kerr 5049 which was collected from Ban Doi Tiu, Nan. The under surface of the leaves of this specimen is not glabrous but covered with short ferruginous tomentum and gives a coppery colour, which is quite typical for S. roxburghii.
