Description : Small tree 5 to 10 m. Leaves coriaceous, elliptic-lanceolate, 7–10 by 2–4 cm, base acute, apex acuminate, glabrous and polished on both surfaces; nerves faint, 7–9 paris, Petiole 5 mm long. Flowers in axillary and terminal raceme-like cymes, shorter than the leaves. Pedicel very short. Calyx tomentose; tube 1.5 mm long; lobes train-gular acute, 1 mm long. Petals as long as the sepals. Stamens 5–1-. Ovary villous. Fruit ellipsoid, 8–12 by 5 mm, yellow or red, smooth.


Thailand : PENINSULAR: Phangnag, Krabi, Tran, Songkhla, Pattani.


Distribution : Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Borneo (type), the Philippines.


Ecology : In evergreen thickets. Flowering: March–April; fruiting: March–July.


Vernacular : Khra (แคระ), khru ra ton (ครุราต้น)(Peninsular).
