Description : Shrub or small tree. Leaves oblong-lanceolate, 6–12 by 2–4 cm, base acute, apex acuminate-caudate, margin entire or serrate, glabrous, densely black-dotted beneath and with 2 flat glands in the basal part; nerves 6–9 pairs. Petiole 3–6 cm long. Stipules linear, glandular-serrate, deciduous. Racemes axilary, solitary, 3–6cm long, glabrous. Pedicel 5 mm. Calyx tube glabrous outside, villous at bottom inside; calyx lobes rounded, laciniate-ciliate. Petals white, orbicular, 3 by 3 mm. Stamens 20–35. Ovary glabrous. Style glabrous. Drupe globose, 6–10 mm; stone thin, smooth or slightly rugose.


Thailand : NORTHERN: Chiang Mai.


Distribution : S China (type), Taiwan, E India (Assam), E Pakistan, N Burma, N Vietnam.


Ecology : Submontane and montane forests and thickets, 900–2,000 m alt.
