Description : Half-evergreen tree. Leaves ovate, 8–10 by 4–5 cm, base rounded or subcordate, apex acuminate, serrate or denticulate, pubescent when young becoming glabrous. Flowers white. Fruit broad-ellipsoid, apple-shaped, spotted, with calyx lobes persistent, very gritty, insipid.


Thailand : Cultivated.


Distribution : China. Cultivated in Europe (CGE – type) and N America.


Vernacular : Sali chin (สาลี่จีน)(Central).


CommonName : Chinese pear, sandy pear, snow pear.


Uses: Ornamental.
