Description : Pseudobulbs erect, ovoid-ellipsoid, slightly compressed, 5–7 by 1.2–1.5 cm. Leaves 2, plicate, subterminal; lamina obovate-oblong, acuminate, 36–40 by 5–6 cm. Inflorescence lateral or subterminal, 40–50 cm long, up to 30-flowered; rachis rusty pubescent; floral bracts deciduous, lanceolate, 8–15 mm long. Flowers fragrant, white to pale yellowish, perianth purple-veined. Sepals densely pubescent with stellate hairs; dorsal sepal lanceolate, long-acuminate, 15–20 by ca 4 mm; lateral sepals lanceolate, falcate, long-acuminate, 15–20 by 4–5 mm, mentum ca 5 mm long. Petals lanceolate, long-acuminate, 15–20 by ca 4 mm, glabrous. Labellum 3-lobed, ovate-lanceolate in outline, ca 14 by 7–8 mm; side lobes suberect, oblong, 6–7 mm long, sinus between side lobe and mid-lobe ca 2 mm long, obtuse; mid-lobe lanceolate-oblong, acuminate, 7–8 by ca 3 mm; labellum ornamented by 3 or 5 lamellae running to near apex of the mid-lobe. Column ca 5 mm long; column foot 5–6 mm long. Ovary (including pedicel) 5–8 mm long, densely pubescent with stellate hairs. Capsule not seen.
Thailand : NORTHERN: Chiang Mai; SOUTH-WESTERN: Kanchanaburi; PENINSULAR: Pattani, Yala.
Distribution : India, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia (type from Java), New Guinea, the Philippines.
Ecology : Growing as an epiphyte or lithophyte in evergreen forests and moist deciduous forests, 300–800 m alt. Flowering: June–September.
