Description : Pseudobulbs 1.5–3 cm apart, ovoid-oblongoid, blunt at apex, 3.5–4 by 1.8–2 cm, covered by fibrous sheaths at the base. Leaves 2–3, conduplicate, arising from pseudobulb apex; lamina elliptic-lanceolate, acute to acuminate, 9–15 by 1.5–3 cm. Inflorescence 1, subterminal, racemose, laxly 7- to 9-flowered; peduncle covered in sheaths, glabrous, 2.5–3.5 cm long; sheaths 3, of different size, the uppermost one largest, 3–3.5 cm long; rachis glabrous, 3–4 cm long; floral bracts obscure. Flowers ca 8 mm long, pale greenish with blackish violet keels on labellum. Sepals glabrous; dorsal sepal oblong, obtuse, 8–9 by ca 3 mm; lateral sepals falcate-lanceolate, subacute, 7–8 by ca 5 mm, 5-veined, forming a mentum ca 4.5 mm long. Petals oblong, slightly falcate, 7–8 by ca 2 mm, obtuse, 3-veined, glabrous. Labellum 3-lobed, obovate in outline, ca 8 by 5 mm (c. 8 mm wide when expanded); side lobes ca 2 by 1.5 mm, falcate-oblong, obtuse; mid-lobe broadly ovate, rounded, ca 2.5 by 2 mm; labellum ornamented by 7 wavy keels running to apex of the mid-lobe, 3 of them arising from base of the hypochile. Column 3–4 mm long; column foot ca 5 mm long. Ovary (including pedicel) 7–8 mm long, glabrous. Capsule not seen.

Thailand : NORTHERN: Nan (Thung Chang).

Distribution : Nepal, NE India (type), Tibet, Myanmar, S China, Vietnam.

Ecology : Growing as a lithophyte on limestone rocks in hill evergreen forests, ca 1,300 m alt. Flowering: February.

Vernacular : Ueang nim nan (เอื้องนิ่มน่าน).
