Description : Stems slender, 12.5–13.5 cm long, 0.2–0.3 cm in diameter (excluding cataphylls). Leaves 2–3 per stem, subterminal, (sub)sessile, narrowly lanceolate-linear, obliquely (sub)acuminate, 17.3–18 by 0.9–1 cm. Inflorescence arising just below the uppermost leaf, spicate, many-flowered with flowers arranged in distinct whorls placed 0.3–0.5 cm apart; peduncle ca 5 cm long, densely pubescent with white hairs; rachis ca 6.9 cm long, densely pubescent with white hairs; floral bracts appressed to ovaries, boat-shaped, broadly ovate to nearly semicircular, rounded, ca 0.7 mm long, sparsely pubescent on the dorsal surface. Flowers white. Sepals slightly spreading, densely pubescent with white hairs on the dorsal surface; dorsal sepal slightly incurved, broadly elliptic, obtuse to rounded, 2–2.1 by 1.3–1.6 mm; lateral sepals strongly incurved, broadly and obliquely ovate, obtuse to rounded, 2.5–2.6 by 2.3–2.7 mm, connate for most of their length to form a broadly conical mentum. Petals porrect to slightly spreading, broadly elliptic, obtuse to subacute, 1.4–1.7 by 1.1–1.3 mm. Labellum describing an acute angle to column, pitcher-shaped with a flat, triangular apex, obtuse to subacute, ca 1.3 by 1.3 mm (in its natural conformation), entire, with two diagonal lines of hairs; sac 2.4–2.5 mm deep, rounded. Column ca 1 mm long; foot 0.6–0.7 mm long; anther transversely elliptic-oblong in upper view, truncate in front. Ovary 0.8–1 mm long, densely pubescent with white hairs. Capsule not seen.

Distribution : Peninsular Malaysia (type), Sumatra, Borneo.


Ecology : In hill evergreen forests, ca 1,200 m alt. Flowering: August.
