Description : Stems quadrangular in young branches, becoming rounded when older, woolly. Stipules sheet deltoids, lobes comb-like, with 7–11 bristle lobes, woolly. Leaves ovate, or ovate-lanceolate, 5.5–8.5 by 1.8–3.5 cm, apex acute or acuminate, base rounded, or attenuate, woolly on both surface, lateral veins (3–)4–5(–6) pairs, slightly to not grooved on upper surface, conspicuous on lower surface; petiole (1–)3–7 mm long, woolly. Inflorescences terminal panicles; capitulate heads 3–11, 0.8–1 cm in diam.; bracteoles 2 or more, 2 largest bracteoles as long as at least a radial of a capitular head; ultimate branch 0.7–1.6 cm long, woolly; capitate peduncle 1–3.2 cm long, woolly. Flowers white, tubular; sessile. Calyx lobes narrowly deltoid, 1.5–2 by 0.5–0.7 mm, long as twice or longer than width, apex acute, erect, outside and inside woolly. Corolla tube 1.5–2 mm long; lobes oblong, 1–1.5 mm long, exserted calyx up to 2 mm long, apex acute, outside tomentose, inside pilose between mouth of corolla tube and middle of tube. Longistylous flowers: filament inconspicuous; anther oblong, 0.5–0.7 mm long; disc glabrous to sparsely pubescent; ovary woolly; style 2.5–3 mm long, glabrous; stigma short (oblong), 0.2–0.3 mm long. Brevistylous flowers: not seen. Capsules obovoid ellipsoid, 2–2.3 by 1.3–1.5 mm, widest near apex. Seeds 2–5 per locule.

Distribution : Malay Peninsula (Penang – type).
Ecology : Evergreen forests, limestone hills, 0–300 m alt. Flowering: April.
Vernacular : Duk kai yan bai pradup yai (ดูกไก่ย่านใบประดับใหญ่).
