Description : Tree 15–20 m tall; young shoots, leaf-rachis, inflorescences and calyces appressedly tawny puberulous. Stipules small, caducous. Leaves with petioles 4.5–8 cm long; rachis 9–13 cm long. Leaflets 7–9, lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, 6–19 by 2.5–5 cm, apex acuminate with small mucronate tip, base cuneate to obtuse subcoriaceous, glabrous on both surfaces; lateral veins 6–9 pairs; petiolules ca 5 mm long. Inflorescences terminal, paniculate, 20–30 cm long; pedicels 3–5 mm long. Calyx ca 10 mm long; teeth ovate, acute, ± as long as tube. Corolla yellowish, turning to pinkish; limb of standard orbicular, ca 12 mm diam., with 2 callus-like appendages on inner side at base; claw short, ca 2 mm long; wings and keel obovate-oblong, 14–15 by 6–7 mm. Ovary appressedly puberulous; ovules 5. Pods obovoid when 1-seeded, subcylindric-torulose and septate between seeds, if more than 1-seeded, 2–3.5 by 1.5–2 cm, glabrescent; valves thick coriaceous, yellowish-brown to golden when dry. Seeds 1–3, oblong-ellipsoid, 15–20 by 9–15 mm; testa fragile, bright red, free from the cotyledons when dry.
