Description : Prostrate slender herb, to 1 m tall; stem, petiole and peduncle pubescent with scattered minute stellate hairs and patent long simple hairs. Leaves broadly ovate or orbicular, 1–5 by 1–4.5 cm, base cordate, apex acute to acuminate, margin crenate or dentate, stellate pubescent with appressed simple hairs and short stellate hairs on both surfaces; palminerved, basally 5-7-nerved. Petiole 0.5–4 cm long, geniculate, with conspicuous long simple hairs. Stipules filiform, 1–3 mm long, pubescent. Flower axillary, usually solitary, often on leafy, raceme-like, axillary shoots. Peduncle slender, 1.5–4 cm long, articulate on distal part above middle, sparsely stellate and patent simple long hairy. Calyx campanulate, 4–7 by 5 mm, divided to middle, sparsely stellate and short hairy on outer surface, glabrous on inner surface, margin ciliate; lobes 5, triangular, 2–3.5 by 2–3 mm long, acute. Corolla yellow, 4–9 mm in diam., slightly exceeding sepals. Petals obovate, ca 6 by 5 mm, apex rounded or slightly emarginate. Staminal column ca 2 mm long, glabrous or sparsely hairy; anthers yellow, numerous. Ovary subglobose, 1–2 mm long, yellowish green, glabrous or sparsely hairy at apex; styles 5; stigmas 5, globose, pale pink or yellowish. Schizocarp subglobose, 2.5–3 mm in diam.; mericarps 5, 2.5–3 mm long, completely enclosed by accrescent calyx, trigonous with round angles, smooth, apically shortly 2–beaked, 1–3 mm long, glabrous or sparsely minutely hairy at apex. Seed ovoid, ca 2 mm long, reniform, brown-black, glabrous.


Thailand : EASTERN: Nakhon Ratchasima (Wang Nam Khiao); SOUTH-EASTERN: Chon Buri (Sattahip).


Distribution : Throughout the tropics and subtropics.


Ecology : Common along roadsides. Flowering: July–February; fruiting: September–March.
