Description : Flowering shoots erect from a decumbent base, 15–46 cm tall; lower part of stem 2–4 mm in diameter. Foliage leaves 4–7, scattered on the lower part of the stem; petiole (including sheath) 1.6–3.6 cm long; lamina obliquely (oblong-)ovate to (elliptic-)lanceolate, acute to subacuminate, 2.8–10.4 by 1.6–3.9 cm. Inflorescence glandular-pubescent, narrowly cylindric; rachis 1.7–15.2 cm long, densely to laxly 6- to many-flowered; bracts somewhat boat-shaped, linear-triangular to lanceolate-triangular, acute to acuminate, shorter than or subequal to the ovary, 4–9.5 by (1.2–)2.5–3.3 mm. Flowers mainly olive-green to yellowish-green with white to yellow labellum (turning brownish-orange towards the base) and purple streaks on the petals. Sepals densely glandular-pubescent on the dorsal side; dorsal sepal boat-shaped, lanceolate oblong, obtuse, 1-veined, 4.2–4.6 by 1.9–2 mm; lateral sepals somewhat spreading, obliquely (lanceolate-)oblong, obtuse, 1- to 3-veined, 4.3–4.8 by 2.2–2.3 mm. Petals obliquely linear lanceolate, obtuse, 4–4.4 by 1–1.2 mm. Labellum 3.2–3.5 mm long (excluding spur); spur 1.7–2 mm long, protruding 1.4–1.7 mm below the lateral sepals, tapering towards the emarginate apex; epichile transversely (triangular-)elliptic, rounded to subacute. Column subclavate, 3–3.2 mm long; anther subacuminate in front, 2–2.1 mm long, 0.8–0.9 mm wide. Ovary 6–10 mm long. Capsule (sub)sessile, 0.8–1 cm long, 0.3–0.4 cm in diameter, glandular-pubescent.


Thailand : NORTHERN: Phitsanulok (Phu Soi Dao); EASTERN: Nakhon Ratchasima (Khao Yai); SOUTH-WESTERN: Kanchanaburi (Sangkhla Buri); PENINSULAR: Chumphon (Khao Thong), Ranong (Khao Phota Chongdon).


Distribution : NE India (type), Myanmar, S China, Vietnam, Taiwan, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Java.


Ecology : Seasonal evergreen forests, upper tropical rain forests, hill evergreen forests and bamboo thickets; 500–1,600 m alt. Flowering: January–March.


Vernacular : Ueang din nai blum (เอื้องดินนายบลูม).
