Description : Tree, 10–40 m high; branches reddish-brown, angular; bark brown, fissured and scaly glabrous. Leaves narrowly elliptic-oblong, 9.5–35 by 4–8 cm, apex acute or shortly acuminate, base cuneate, subcoriaceous, lateral nerves 5–18 per side, obliquely arched, prominent beneath, venation reticulate, obscure on both surfaces; petiole 4.5–7.5 cm, terete, swollen at base. Panicles terminal or in upper leaf axils. Flowers white or greenish-white; calyx 4-lobed; petals 4, elliptic; stamens 4, 1 fertile, filament free; ovary ovoid. Drupes broadly ellipsoid with 3 ridges, 8–10 cm by 5.5–7 cm; dark purple with pale brownish spot when ripe; flesh light yellow, fibrous, sweet to sour.

Distribution : Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo.
Ecology : In lowland evergreen forests.
Vernacular : Mamuang khan (มะม่วงคัน)(Peninsular).
