Description : Small shrub to large tree. Leaves very variable in all characters. Inflorescence with spicate branches. Fruit globose to ampulliform with curved embryo and seed.


Distribution : Continental Asia (from China and Japan in the north and India in the west), throughout Malesia to Australia (Queensland and New South Wales), the Solomons, the New Hebrides, and Fiji.
