Description : Herbs. Leaves spiral. Ocrea an oblique sheath. Inflorescences racemose or paniculate, bisexual. Flowers without an ocreola. Tepals 6, in two series, persistent in fruit. Stamens 6, filament bases not united to tepals. Ovary trigonous. Fruits ovate with wings.
